HI i saw veer bhupinder ji's program couple of days before in which he
was advising students. He answered one of their question about inter
religion marriages. He told them that they should not marry person from
other religion as this causes riots & killing of people.I don't feel fully
satisfied with the answer. The reason for that is: When muslims were
illtreating hindus, then Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib wore two swords to
protect them.Guru Gobind Singh ji created "Khalsa" to protect people
and taught them to fight for their rights.Lot of Sikhs sacrificed
their lives to protect to save others. They sacrificed themselves to
protect their hair. I just want to ask Veerji that, when they say that
one should not marry in other religions as this will cause riots,Was
sacrificing lives to protect hairs is justified according to
him. Our gurus taught us to fight against crime and criminals, protect
faith and help needfuls. I just don't feel justified with the
answer. We say that every religion is same which narrows the gap
between human and God & teach us how to live a peaceful life.

Welcome Raman Singh ji to the Living Treasure Forum

Others will also share their views on
the point which you have raised. I m
just another member just like you and
am sharing here something which may be
liked by you or may not be, Here it is-

By marrying someone of other religion
are you doing any of the following things:
- Fighting against crime
- Protect faith
- Help needful [you might be doing this one
but still you probably would be helping only
one :-)]
- Fighting for your rights
- Protecting others...

Note Raman Singh ji, I am not trying
to prove you wrong, I m just pointing
out the deeper concerns, the practical
difficulties...

Example, you being Sikh practice
- Doing Path
- Going to Gurdwara
- Believe in one and only God
- Have not read Sikh Rahit Maryada
till now but will read it too

And you are planning to marry a Hindu
girl who
- Do Puja
- Goes to variety of God and Goddess temples
- Have many Gods - one for food, one for air,
one for money, one for rain etc.
- Do variety of Fasting
- etc,

Now after 1 year of marriage you both
may not be able to adjust to each other's
lifestyle, faiths, style of prayer and
especially if a new child is coming then
you both may quarrel as to new born should
be Sikh or Hindu for social reasons, then
whether to do Mundan or Dastar Bandi, etc.
I m sorry, I cannot incorporate how would you
handle families and relatives...

Another thing which I feel may be a part of
history. When Auranzeb started killing Hindus
or converting them to Muslims, then Guru
Patshah fought to protect human rights to
Independence and Freedom to choose the path
of life...Thus, the idea is not to convert
all to one religion but to serve the humanity

Now practically especially elders have such
strong deep rooted faiths in their way of
believing in God that they do not change their
thought process to 1 world 1 God and thus
to avoid unwanted fighting in life instead
of staying happy and spreading happiness,
it may be recommended to marry a partner of
same religion... because you do not marry
only 1 human being but you marry bunch
of relationships (her parents, brothers and
sisters, relatives)

Still, you have right to totally disagree
with me :-)

Others do contribute...

Hi jaspreet

first of all I am not planning to marry a hindu or any other religion girl.
Secondly, I just need clarification on veeji's answer.

You are right that if someone marries in other religion he/she is not serving humanity or fighting crime.
I just want to say that
Veerji said that  one should not marry because it causes riots and killing of people.
Is it justified?
I am trying to say that his clarification is not correct.

Also if you can clarify what you mean by the line:
You could have been DEAD by now!
Aren't you thankful for being alive and reading this...

Thanks
Raman Singh

Yes Raman Singh ji
I can clarify the meaning of,
"You could have been DEAD by now!
Aren't you thankful for being alive and reading this... "

It simply means that one should
remain grateful to God and live
in gratitude. Usually we forget
the gifts given by god and starts
finding whats missing in life...
That is the end of life...
Instead of finding what is missing,
the better option can be to start
enjoying what we already have and
come up with better solutions how
to have what we presently dont have...

Practially, I have seen 0 years old
baby dieing in mother's womb and hospital
avoiding to operate and asking the patient
to go to other hospital as this hospital
dont want to take the blame.

So what ever age u r in today, you could
have been dead physically because of road
accident or otherwise
OR
You could have been dead spiritually because
of feeling lack of love like my parents dont
love me, teachers dont respect me, girls dont
like me, or I dont have this or that or why is
every body finds faults in me or I dont like
others or anything...
But if you can think back and appreciate God
for being alive, then you can use your imagination
for better life...

I hope I have not complicated.... :-)

Dear RamanSingh Ji, Jaspreet has nicely shared with a decent wide vision the impact of inter-religion marriage.. As far as your concern about the reply to the specific ques is concerned.. I can say everyone has his/her own experience in life or have vision for looking at things.. some are far-sighted analysers on the contrary some are short-sighted ones...

The reply from Veerji in the particular prog within stipulated time is apt as it is short-crisp version of whaty Jaspreet shared... It is just a sharing.. If we will spare some time to think on this then we will realise some close replies to this...
We can be Happy or WE can be Right!!!

Choice is ours...
