lets start discussion on this topic..... we want to do what is right but we do what is wrong!!! sometimes wrong things feel right and at the same time right things feel wrong...we don't know why we feel the why we feel.. our emotions confuse us that often leads us to make decision we later regret.. so here a question stands that how to not do wrong things when it feels right and how to do right things when it feels wrong to us???? ConfusedConfused

Its good Damandeep ji that u got access to start a new topic :)

The real confusion starts when u see things from others eyes or others view point :)

Ur feelings are ur guidepost and what u do in a certain situation is right for you in that situation... and its perfectly all right as long as u keep record of direction of ur feelings...

U can feel good or bad at any one point of time. Therefore, keep working towards guiding ur thought process that makes u feel good most of the time...

Ex. If u met a snake on the road, then u may behave in such a way which looks wrong to others, but since its a new challenge for u and u only spotted the snake, u r doing ur best n its perfectly OK.

The more time u spend on feeling good and happy and preparing how to handle various life incidents and snakes, the better u get at dealing n behaving in any of life's challenges :)

All the best... :)

If you want to be successful, it's very simple. Just know and believe in what you are doing is good for everyone.

here i am giving an example from book once i read:-
A woman may become emotionally attached to
a man other than her husband; she may feel that she could
never be happy without him, yet deep inside she knows that
leaving her family for the other man would be the wrong
thing to do. She doesn’t want to hurt anyone. She doesn’t
want to disappoint family and friends, but her feelings seem
overwhelming. She battles with her thoughts and emotions
and is in the midst of a terrible, relentless struggle.
She talks herself into doing the right thing, but when she
thinks about or sees the man, she once again feels she cannot
be happy without him. Part of her wants to do what she knows
is right, and part of her wants to do what she feels like doing
even though she knows it is wrong. She asks herself and perhaps
other people time and again, “Why do I feel this way?”
She may wish that she didn’t feel the way she does. But then
she reasons, How can this be wrong since it feels so right? She
begins to justify her actions by making excuses and placing
blame elsewhere. She says that her husband does not understand
her and has never been emotionally available. She is
lonely and convinces herself that she married the wrong man.

from above situation we can judge well that sometimes our emotions convince us to justify our wrong action by making excuses and placing blame elsewhere.
now my question is how to follow wisdom rather than emotions in such situations?

Gr8 example Damandeep ji

Now apply my point as i stated above...

When the woman first felt that her husband is not as loving n caring as she expected, she needed to observe this feeling to be negative which is attracting more similar thoughts n accordingly to prove her point right, her mind showed her that actually there was some other person who cud love her more... and she kept drifted away.... Hmmmmm...

Even if she leaves her husband still she will soon start feeling that she made a wrong decision bcos she never learnt to observe her feelings n do something about it...

But the moment she starts looking at positive side of life n start staying happy, her husband will also change bcos her behavior n words will do the magic in her life...

Dear Daman ji Jaspreet ji has nicely explained ur query.....wat i feel is sada mann es gal di gavahi denda hai ki wats right and wats wrong...Bt like u said we justify the wrong things also, for that we need to accept this that watever we will sow, we will have to reap one fine day....So always choose wats best and aligned to truth in life....it can be done if we practice wisdom and try to live wat gurbani says and teaches us....:)
